Organisation
From Pretoria Wireless Project
In order to facilitate sustainable growth, and long term usability of the PWP network, we have established a basic organisational structure to facilitate the growth and well being of the PWP network.

Overview
The PWP is a community based project, with it's members volunteering their services, time, equipment, and other resources. All these contributions are freely given, and should be respected. In order to protect the rights of all those involved, certain policies have been established, with a number of the PWP participants having been elected from volunteers among active PWP members. The core team is responsible for co-ordinating the structure and growth of the technical aspects of the project, and establishing policies and practices to optimise the network.
Members
The members of the PWP are all those individuals who are involved and contribute to the project.
Members could be individuals who own and operate network nodes. Or people who contribute with technical, legal or other expertise.
Network
The actual PWP network is made up a collection of WIFI sites that have been configured to communicate with each other forming a wireless computer network.
Goals
The PWP project has a number of goals:
- To create, maintain and run a community owned network.
- To learn about the technical aspects of computer networks in general, and WIFI networks in specific.
- To stay within the limits of the law in the operation of the PWP network.
- To help those interested in the network to learn about, and join the network.
